Why CrossWise?

This blog was begun to promote truth.  Keeping in mind Paul’s words in I Corinthians chapter 2: the Spirit brings wisdom – not wisdom as the world knows it, but Truth as revealed by the Holy Spirit.  The Cross is the delineating factor.

The term “CrossWise” was chosen for a number of reasons.  First, it’s the Cross of Jesus Christ which leads to salvation and the subsequent indwelling Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, who provides spiritual wisdom.  Second, “crosswise” means ‘in the form of a cross.’  Third, the term means ‘across’ or ‘in a contrary manner’ which can mean the views expressed here may be different from and contrary to some.

This is not a ‘discernment ministry’ per se, as this site will from time to time discuss eschatological viewpoints and other issues which will likely be controversial to some.  As I stated in the Are You a Heretic? article no one has perfect theology and that includes me.  My intent here is to grow as I learn from others who share my views and from others who may have an opposing viewpoint.

I would also like to state that the references and links on this site do not necessarily reflect in total my particular theological views.  This includes my blog roll.  If I feel a particular reference has merit I may use it regardless of a particular view of said individual or source which may be controversial.  Just because someone is wrong in one area does not mean they cannot be right in other areas (see genetic fallacy, which is discussed in Consider the Source).  In addition, I may quote a source not even knowing the full theological views of said source.

Also, I will be quoting from esoteric and occult sources from time to time in order to show a possible connection to the theological views expressed in certain teachings by individuals.  Obviously, these sources are used for educational and illustrative purposes and do not reflect my own beliefs.  I will clearly show the views of these sources to be contrary to orthodox Christianity.

It has been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, however to use anyone else’s work and pass it off as your own, without crediting the original source, is a form of thievery known as plagiarism.  With that in mind, if you wish to reproduce any articles on this site, or to copy portions, I request that you give proper attribution by hyperlinking back here.  Thanks in advance for your consideration.

      TRT,

Thanks for coming over! I’ll have to check out the rest of your blog. I hope to post some more on the history of hyper-charismaticism such as some of the things you mention as I do more research.
